The School runs a course on research methods in the first session of each year. It is a compulsory unit for our honours students, but would be of great benefit to many research students as well. The course takes you through the process of developing a research proposal, using your own research as its test case. If you are interested in undertaking it, please contact Frantz Clermont
There is no specific provision for research students to undertake other courses in the School (except for a few cases where this is prescribed as a requirement of your enrolment). But most academics will be happy to have an interested research student sit in on their course. If you wish to do so, you should directly ask the permission of the academic involved, but it is unlikely that permission will be refused.
