One area in which the Academy excels is its sporting facilities. These are available to full time postgraduate research students, but you will need to produce your academy ID card to use them. They include a 50m swimming pool, a fully equipped gymnasium, squash, badminton and basketball courts, etc; also outdoor facilities including well maintained tennis courts. In addition, there is a large staff of military sporting instructors. While their prime responsibilities are to the Academy cadets, they are usually extremely helpful to anybody from the academic side who shows any interest. If you have any sporting questions, it's worth taking the time to seek their assistance.
One warning, though: the beautiful green field just in front of the college administration building is not a sports field, but the Academy parade ground. There are important military traditions relating to the parade ground, and it will cause grave offence if you walk across it while in civilian dress.
